HIPPOCRATES Annual Plenary Meeting 2026: Shaping the Final Project Year
The fifth HIPPOCRATES Annual Plenary Meeting took place in Brussels from the 20th-21st May.
Last week, the HIPPOCRATES consortium gathered at UCB in Brussels, Belgium, for the fifth Annual Plenary Meeting, bringing together partners, researchers, clinicians, and patient research partners (PRP) from across Europe to reflect on achievements and align on priorities for the final project year.
The first day opened with welcoming remarks, setting the tone for two days of productive discussions and collaboration, followed by insightful flash talks, poster discussions, and collaborative work package sessions, highlighting the significant progress achieved across the project so far. Important discussions also focused on patient involvement and engagement, underlining the consortium’s continued commitment to patient-centred research in psoriatic disease.
Among the key milestones presented on the first day were:
- More than 8,000 participants recruited for the HPOS study
- Publication of the Midterm Evaluation of PRP Involvement in HIPPOCRATES
- 51 scientific publications produced and published to date
On the second day, the consortium turned its attention towards sustainability and long-term impact beyond the lifetime of the project. A dedicated workshop explored how key HIPPOCRATES assets – including the HPOS cohort and project databases – can continue to support research and innovation after the project concludes, further exploring pathways for maximising the project’s scientific, clinical, and societal impact. The programme also included a keynote speech by Dr. Alistair Henry, Chief Scientific Officer at UCB, and the annual HIPPO award ceremony.
The meeting concluded with a reflective session looking back on the achievements and discussions of the two days, while setting the course for the final year of HIPPOCRATES and its continued mission to advance research into psoriatic arthritis.
Thank you to all consortium partners and contributors for your continued collaboration and engagement, demonstrating the strength of the HIPPOCRATES community and its shared commitment to improving outcomes for people living with psoriatic disease.
